Modern Professional

Modern Professional puts your name and headline on the left with contact details aligned right, which keeps the top of the page uncluttered and gives a reviewer both pieces of information without either competing. Section headings sit above a short accent rule rather than a full-width line, so the page reads as structured rather than ruled. It remains a single column throughout, which means it parses reliably while looking considerably less plain than a strict ATS layout.

What makes it different

  • Split header keeps the name prominent without pushing contact details down the page
  • Short accent rules give structure without heavy horizontal lines
  • Dates align right on the role line, which speeds up scanning a career history
  • Single column, so it still parses cleanly

Best for

Business and operations roles · Marketing and communications · Mid-career applications · Direct applications to a named hiring manager

When to choose something else

  • The header puts your name on the left and contact details on the right. A crude parser can read the two as one line, so the plainer Minimal ATS is safer for an unknown portal.
  • The accent rules print as grey on a mono printer, which flattens the structure they are there to give.
  • Conventional enough that it will not distinguish you in a creative field.

Where your sections go

Every section runs the full width of the page, one after another, in the order you set them. Nothing is moved into a side column, which is why the order you choose in the editor is exactly the order a reader meets it in.

Parses correctly in normal use, with some visual structure. Suitable for most direct applications.
