Editorial Policy

This site publishes CV guidance and worked profession examples. This page explains how that content is chosen and written, what standards it is held to, and — just as importantly — what it will never claim.

It is written to be checkable. Everything below describes the process actually followed. Where something is a limitation rather than a strength, it is stated as one.

What is published here

The site publishes three kinds of content: profession-specific CV examples, writing guides, and descriptions of the Europass CV Maker CV layouts. All of it exists to help someone organise their own experience into a clear application document.

Nothing is published to fill a page count, to occupy a keyword, or to carry advertising. If a topic cannot be covered usefully, it is left uncovered.

How topics are chosen

  • Professions are chosen where the CV conventions genuinely differ from a general one — a doctor, an auditor and a React developer each need a different structure, not the same page with the job title swapped.
  • Guides are chosen from the questions people actually face when writing a CV: what to include, how long it should be, what to do with no experience, how conventions differ by country.
  • A profession or topic is only added when there is something specific to say about it.

How the content is produced

Drafting and formatting are assisted by automated tools. That is not treated as a substitute for judgement: automation is fast at structure and consistently poor at knowing when a claim is unsupported, so every page is checked against the standards on this page before it is published.

This site does not present automation as a quality signal. How a page was drafted says nothing about whether it is useful, and readers are not asked to take the process on trust — the standards below are the part that matters, and they are visible.

What this site will not claim

The following do not appear anywhere on this site, because none of them would be true:

  • Named authors, reviewers, editors or contributors, and any professional credential attached to them.
  • Review or endorsement by a doctor, lawyer, accountant, recruiter or professional body.
  • User numbers, download counts, success rates, testimonials, ratings or awards.
  • Keyword rankings, traffic figures or any other performance statistic.
  • Any guarantee that a CV format will pass an applicant tracking system, reach a recruiter, or result in an interview. No format can promise that, and any site that says otherwise is selling something.

Sample CVs are fictional

Every sample CV on this site — the names, employers, universities, dates and achievements — is fictional demonstration data written to show a structure. Sample email addresses use the reserved example.com, example.co.uk and example.ac.uk domains, which cannot belong to a real person.

No sample is taken from a real user’s CV. User CVs are private, are never published, and are not used as source material for anything on this site.

Regulated professions

Some professions on this site are regulated — medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, law, accountancy and audit among them. Content for these covers how to present training, registration and clinical or professional experience on a CV.

It does not state licensing requirements, registration thresholds or jurisdiction-specific rules, and it does not invent a registration number, licence or professional body membership for a sample CV. Those things change by country and by year, and getting them wrong in a CV guide would cause real harm. Check them with your own regulator.

Sources and accuracy

Guidance on this site describes CV conventions — what employers in a given country or field usually expect. Conventions are not law, and this site is careful to say which is which.

Where a page currently states a convention without citing a source, that is a limitation and it is being worked through: pages that make claims about official requirements or professional standards are being reviewed so they either cite an authoritative source with the date it was checked, or state the claim more cautiously. A citation will never be added to a page unless the source was actually read.

Corrections

If something here is wrong — particularly if it is wrong about your own profession — please say so through the contact page or at support@europasscvmaker.online. Corrections from people who do the job are the most useful feedback this site receives.

Material errors are corrected on the page itself rather than quietly removed. A page is not re-dated to look fresh; the date changes when the content changes.

Independence

Europass CV Maker is an independent CV-building service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Europass or the European Commission.

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any employer, recruiter, university, professional body, or any other CV or document service. No content is placed here in exchange for payment, and there are no paid or exchanged links.

Advertising

No advertising is currently served on this site. If that changes, advertising will be clearly distinguishable from content, will not be placed to be mistaken for a product control, and will not appear in the CV editor or during sign-up. No page will be written in order to carry an advert.
