Executive

Executive uses a serif face and a centred header to signal seniority without decoration. Dates align to the right of each role so a long career history stays scannable, and the spacing is deliberately generous: at director level the CV is usually read slowly, and cramming the page works against you. It suits finance, legal, professional services and any application where the reader expects formality.

What makes it different

  • Serif typography that reads as formal rather than decorative
  • Centred header, conventional for senior applications
  • Generous leading so a long history does not feel crowded
  • Still a single column, so it parses without trouble

Best for

Director and senior management roles · Finance and professional services · Board and trustee applications · Any employer with a formal culture

When to choose something else

  • The generous spacing costs a noticeable amount of page. A fifteen-year history that fits two pages elsewhere may need three here.
  • The seniority signalling looks out of place on an early-career CV and can read as overreach.
  • A serif face at small sizes is slightly harder to read on screen than the sans-serif alternatives.

Where your sections go

Every section runs the full width of the page, one after another, in the order you set them. Nothing is moved into a side column, which is why the order you choose in the editor is exactly the order a reader meets it in.

Parses correctly in normal use, with some visual structure. Suitable for most direct applications.
