This policy explains what this site stores, why, and who can see it. It describes the software as it is built rather than as a general statement of intent.
The short version: your CVs are private, they are not published anywhere, they are not shared with third parties, and access is enforced by the database itself rather than only by the application.
If you use the site without an account, nothing is sent to us. The CV you build is held in your own browser using local storage, and PDF generation happens on your device — the contents of your CV do not leave your machine in order to produce the file.
If you create an account, we store the following:
Only you. Every CV is stored against your user id and protected by row-level security policies in the database, which means a request for another account's CV returns nothing regardless of what the request claims to be. This is enforced by PostgreSQL, not only by the application.
Administrators of this site can see aggregate figures — how many accounts exist, how many CVs have been created, which templates are used — and account metadata such as email address and registration date. Administrators cannot browse the contents of user CVs, and there is no interface that would allow it.
This site sets one category of cookie: the session cookies used to keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary for authentication and are set only after you sign in.
There are no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies. That is why you have not been shown a consent banner — there is nothing non-essential to consent to. If that changes, consent will be requested before any such cookie is set.
CVs are kept until you delete them. Deleting a CV removes it and its version history permanently; there is no recycle bin and no backup copy retained for your account.
Contact form messages are kept while they are being dealt with and are archived afterwards.
Local drafts held in your browser stay until you clear your browser storage or the draft is replaced.
You can view and edit everything stored about you from your account pages, download any CV as a PDF, and delete your CVs at any time — individually or all at once, from Settings.
To have your account itself removed, delete your CVs and then contact us from the address on the account. Account deletion is deliberately a manual step because it is irreversible.

This service is intended for people old enough to be seeking work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly hold data about them.
If this policy changes materially — particularly if analytics or advertising are introduced — the date at the top will change and the change will be described here rather than made quietly.
