Mobile hiring has one advantage over most software hiring: the work is usually public. A reviewer can open the App Store, read the reviews and see the release history. A mobile CV that does not name a shipped app is throwing that away.
The second thing reviewers look for is platform reality. Store review rejections, background execution limits, push notification delivery, deep links, offline sync and battery impact are where mobile work actually gets hard, and where a CV can prove experience rather than assert it.
This example is written for a developer with around five years across native and cross-platform work.
Mobile developer with five years shipping consumer and field-operations apps in React Native and Swift. Most recent work is a driver app used by around 4,000 people a day, including an offline-first job capture flow built for areas with unreliable signal.
–Own the driver app in React Native: around 4,000 daily users, 4.5 rating across roughly 1,200 App Store reviews.
–Designed offline-first job capture with a local SQLite queue and last-writer-wins reconciliation, which let drivers complete deliveries through 20-minute signal gaps without data loss.
–Cut cold start on a Pixel 6a from 3.4s to 1.6s by deferring analytics initialisation and moving font loading off the main thread.
–Set up Fastlane and staged rollouts; releases moved from an all-day manual process to a 20-minute pipeline with 10% canary.
–Resolved two App Store rejections relating to background location usage by rewriting the permission rationale and reducing the requested authorisation level.

–Built the loyalty and in-store scanning features of the customer app in Swift and UIKit, later migrating three screens to SwiftUI.
–Reduced crash-free session rate problems from 97.1% to 99.6% by fixing two race conditions in the checkout flow found through Crashlytics grouping.
–Implemented deep links from email campaigns, which roughly doubled campaign-driven app opens over two quarters.

What recruiters expect
Before writing anything, it helps to know what the person reading is checking for. In this field that is usually a short, specific list:
Named, shipped applications with an install base or a store rating you are willing to stand behind.
Release experience: signing, TestFlight, staged rollouts, and at least one store rejection you resolved.
Offline behaviour and state synchronisation, which is the hardest part of most consumer apps.
Performance on real devices - startup time, list scrolling, memory - not just simulator behaviour.
A clear statement on native versus cross-platform, and why you would choose one.
Recommended CV structure
This is the running order the example uses. It is a starting point rather than a rule, but the order reflects what tends to be read first in this profession.
Profile — Three or four lines positioning you for the role.
Technical Skills — Grouped skills, for example "Languages" and "Tooling".
Professional Experience — Paid roles, in reverse chronological order.
Shipped Applications — Work you built, with outcomes and the stack used.
Education — Degrees, diplomas and school-leaving qualifications.
Certifications — Completed certifications with the issuing body.
Languages — Spoken languages with CEFR levels.
Sections worth adding
App Store Links — Only if the apps are still live and you contributed materially.
Recognition — Store features and editorial placements are genuinely notable here.
Skills worth including
Grouped rather than listed in one block. Grouping makes a long list readable and shows that you can tell the difference between the things you use daily and the things you have touched.
Beyond the technical list: Working with product designers, Store submission management, Supporting customer teams, Release planning. These belong inside your experience bullets, demonstrated, rather than in a list of adjectives.
Example professional summary
Three or four lines, positioned for the role rather than describing your personality. Two versions you can adapt:
Mobile developer with five years shipping consumer and field-operations apps in React Native and Swift. Most recent work is a driver app used by around 4,000 people a day, including an offline-first job capture flow built for areas with unreliable signal.
Mobile engineer working across React Native and native iOS. Comfortable owning a release from feature branch to staged rollout, including store submission and the occasional rejection appeal.
Writing your experience
The difference between a CV that gets a call and one that does not is almost always in the bullet points. Each pair below shows a real rewrite of the kind of line that appears on most CVs in this field.
Weak
Developed mobile applications using React Native.
Stronger
Built and shipped the Loop Rides driver app in React Native, now used by around 4,000 drivers daily with a 4.5 rating across 1,200 App Store reviews.
Names the app, the user base and a public quality signal.
Weak
Improved app performance.
Stronger
Cut cold start on a Pixel 6a from 3.4s to 1.6s by deferring analytics initialisation and moving font loading off the main thread.
Device-specific measurement plus the two changes that produced it.
Weak
Handled offline mode.
Stronger
Designed offline-first job capture with a local SQLite queue and last-writer-wins reconciliation, which let drivers complete deliveries through 20-minute signal gaps without losing data.
Explains the strategy and the real-world condition it was designed for.
Taken from the example
The sample CV for this profession is fully written. A few sections from it, so you can see the level of specificity that works:
Experience
Senior Mobile Developer, Loop Rides
Own the driver app in React Native: around 4,000 daily users, 4.5 rating across roughly 1,200 App Store reviews.
Designed offline-first job capture with a local SQLite queue and last-writer-wins reconciliation, which let drivers complete deliveries through 20-minute signal gaps without data loss.
Cut cold start on a Pixel 6a from 3.4s to 1.6s by deferring analytics initialisation and moving font loading off the main thread.
Set up Fastlane and staged rollouts; releases moved from an all-day manual process to a 20-minute pipeline with 10% canary.
Projects
Loop Rides Driver — React Native app for delivery drivers with offline job capture, route handover and proof-of-delivery photo upload.
Northline Rewards — Native iOS loyalty app with barcode scanning and offline point balance caching.
If NDA prevents naming a client app, describe the category and the scale instead of leaving a blank.
Simulator-only claims
Performance figures with no device named invite scepticism. "On a Pixel 6a" or "on an iPhone SE" makes the claim checkable.
Ignoring the release process
Signing, provisioning and store review are a real part of the job and are rarely mentioned. Mentioning them stands out.
Presenting web React experience as mobile experience
They overlap, but layout, navigation and lifecycle differ enough that reviewers will test the distinction.
ATS considerations
Applicant tracking systems behave differently by sector, and generic advice is often wrong for a given field. These points are specific to mobile app developer applications:
Include both "iOS" and "Android" as words even if you specialise, since adverts commonly list both.
Write "React Native" in full - "RN" matches nothing.
Name the language, not just the UI framework: "Swift" alongside "SwiftUI", "Kotlin" alongside "Jetpack Compose".
Put store links as plain text as well as hyperlinks so the URL survives parsing.
The Minimal ATS layout is built for this, and the ATS guide covers what parsers do to a file in more detail.
Questions about mobile app developer CVs
Should I specialise in native or cross-platform?
Either is employable. What weakens a CV is claiming both at equal depth. Lead with the one you have shipped most in and be specific about the other.
Can I list apps built for a previous employer?
Yes, describing your contribution. Do not imply sole authorship of a team product - it is easy to check and damaging when it does not hold up.
What if my apps have been removed from the store?
Say what the app did and how many people used it. A delisted app is normal; an unexplained gap is not.
